I always get people telling me that I should not only do full-glam makeup looks on millennials, but that I should also do makeup looks on more. . . “experienced” people (let’s be honest, that was just a nicer way of saying “old” so that all of the moms out there don’t get mad at me; but really though, y’all are young at heart and I love it). I’ve always loved this request and knew I wanted to accept the challenge to prove that everyone can enjoy makeup – not only young girls in their 20’s.
Believe me when I say that there is a distinct and important difference between wearing makeup because it makes you beautiful, and wearing makeup because it enhances your beauty (or simply because it’s fun). I absolutely love doing makeup on myself and others; to me, it is a way of expression, and I am already a very artistic person besides that. At the same time, I rarely wear much makeup myself! There is no right or wrong way to do makeup, and there should be no set guidelines when it comes to expressing oneself. Makeup is just a fun and creative way to enhance beauty.
What is most important is confidence.
Beauty does not correlate with makeup.
But, like I said before, it’s still a fun form of expression and I absolutely loved the opportunity I had to glam up this wonderful, more “experienced” woman, who happens to be like my second mother. She is a wonderful example to me of someone who is confident and happy and loves to have fun and feel beautiful. I am grateful and honored I got to give her some special treatment – she deserves it!
